Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) has announced that all trams at the Singapore Zoo and Jurong Bird Park will be powered by electricity by the end of 2021 in a move toward sustainable mobility. The change will affect 30 trams, with six trams serving Jurong Bird Park and 24 trams serving three Mandai parks. Currently, 24 trams have already transitioned to run on electricity rather than gasoline, reducing carbon footprint by 24 per cent annually.

WRS has also targeted switching its entire internal fleet to electric by 2025, including vans, trucks, buggies, and tow tractors. It is currently also working with external shuttle bus operators in these two parks to transition their fleet to all-electric buses by the end of 2025.
