The Government of Indonesia has announced plans to commence construction on the Bali Light Rail Transit (LRT) project in early 2024. Works will be executed in two phases, with the initial phase covering the first 5.3 km of the line spanning from Ngurah Rai Airport to the Kuta Central Park in Badung Regency. This phase will be financed through official development assistance (ODA) from the Government of South Korea.
Meanwhile, the second phase will cover the remaining 4.16 km spanning Seminyak to the Mengwi area. Work under this phase will be financed through a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.
The Ministry of Transportation (MOT) plans to conclude the feasibility study for the line before the end of 2023.
