Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation (CREC) has partnered with Cogent Energy, a subsidiary of Clark Electric Distribution Corporation (CEDC) to supply 7.5 MW of solar power in the Philippines. The power will be generated from CREC’s Tarlac solar power plants.
The contract will run until December 2024 or until CREC’s 63 MW Bato solar power project commences commercial operations. Once the plant is operational, the partnership will convert into a 10-year power supply contract providing 30 MW of electricity to CEDC.
The partnership is in compliance with the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS), under which local retail electricity suppliers like CEDC can source a portion of their energy from renewable sources.
