Volt, the electric vehicle (EV) charging business of Keppel’s Infrastructure Division, has opened Singapore’s largest public electric bus charging hub at 2E Jalan Papan in Jurong. Developed in collaboration with testing, inspection and certification company Setsco, the facility has an installed charging capacity of 2.76 MW and currently enables up to 46 electric vehicles to charge simultaneously using a combination of 120 kW fast chargers and 360 kW ultra-fast chargers.
The charging hub will serve as the primary fast-charging facility for ComfortDelGro Bus’s electric bus fleet operating in western Singapore, while also being accessible to electric passenger cars and light- and heavy-duty electric commercial vehicles. Volt is developing the site in phases, with plans to increase capacity to support up to 70 EVs charging simultaneously once fully operational. The company had previously announced that the project would initially include five 360 kW ultra-fast chargers and support the charging of up to 80 electric buses.
The new facility forms part of Volt’s broader strategy to expand Singapore’s EV charging infrastructure and accelerate the adoption of electric mobility. Volt currently operates nearly 500 charging points across more than 150 locations in Singapore, with over half comprising DC fast chargers. The expanded charging network is expected to support the country’s transition towards cleaner public transport and growing demand for electric commercial vehicle infrastructure.
