The Governments of Kazakhstan and Thailand have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the transport and logistics sector during a meeting in Bangkok between Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Thailand, Margulan Baimukhan, and Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, developing international transport corridors, expanding transit transportation and strengthening logistics infrastructure.
During the meeting, Ambassador Baimukhan outlined Kazakhstan’s ongoing efforts to modernise its transport infrastructure, expand international transport routes and implement large-scale projects aimed at enhancing the country’s role as a regional transit hub. Particular emphasis was placed on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) and its potential to improve transport connectivity between Central Asia and Southeast Asia. Thailand expressed its interest in expanding transport cooperation and agreed on the importance of strengthening engagement between the relevant government authorities to advance joint initiatives.
The two sides noted that enhanced transport and logistics cooperation would support increased bilateral trade, investment and business relations.
