The Vietnamese government has proposed the construction of a $58 billion HSR network in the country. The proposed North-South HSR will connect Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City with 20 stops, spanning around 1,545 km. The government had shelved a similar project in 2010. Currently, a pre-feasibility report for the project has been submitted by the Ministry of Transport to the Prime Minister’s Office.
