Vena Energy plans to begin construction on the 2 GW clean energy hybrid mega project in Indonesia in 2026 and to commence supply of electricity to Singapore before 2030. The project, located in the Riau Islands, will also include the development of a subsea cable network to Singapore that will be used for the cross-border transmission of energy. Works on the cable will be completed in phases by 2032.

Additionally, the facility will also feature a battery storage system capable of  storing more than 8GW of solar energy.

Additionally, Vena Energy has also signed a collaboration agreement with Shell Eastern Trading, a subsidiary of Shell, to import the renewable power generated by the project. Vena Energy plans to export up to 2.5 TWh of electricity annually to Singapore.
