The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has announced that about USD50 billion is required to implement a 10-year master plan to develop multi-mode transportation connectivity across Cambodia. The draft master plan is expected to be completed in 2024-2025.
Some of the projects highlighted in the master plan will include developing new infrastructure for road, railway, expressway, waterway, seaway transportation systems, ports and airports. The plan will also include the restoration of waterway and maritime transportation systems, allowing them to accommodate larger vessels, as well as constructing seeder ports.
