The Government of Indonesia has launched its first carbon exchange for the companies to offset their emissions. This is in line with the country’s climate goals under the USD20 billion Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) to reach carbon neutrality in the power sector by 2050. Additionally, this will also help the country to meet its target of preventing global warming past 1.5 degrees celsius under the Paris Agreement, 2015.

The exchange will create a new USD194 billion worth of sustainable economy.
