France-based Thales Group has secured the contract to install automatic fare collection (AFC) gates at the existing mass rapid transit (MRT) Lines in Singapore over the next seven years. The gates will be equipped with contactless technologies and will be installed at the North-South and East-West Lines, the Circle Line, and the Jurong Region Line (JRL).
In 2013, Thales had installed the swinging glass door AFC gates for the Downtown MRT Line in Singapore.
