Thailand’s mobile operators have announced that they will participate in an allocation of three licences in 700 MHz spectrum, with a combined value of THB5 3.4 ($1.71 billion). The country’s largest operator, Advanced Info Service (AIS) and second-ranked True Corporation and Total Access Communication (DTAC) have submitted applications to participate in the allocation of the three blocks in 700 Mhz spectrum. Participating in the spectrum allocation has been set by the NBTC as a prerequisite for the operators to receive extension for the payment of their 900 MHz licences.
