The testing of a new electronic road pricing system began on Singapore’s Woodlands Avenue 12. In 2011, four consortiums –Kapsch TrafficCom; MHI Engine System Asia and NCS; ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) and IBM Singapore; and Watchdata Technologies and Beijing Watchdata System – had won the contract to deploy technologies in place of the current gantry system. The four consortiums had contributed S$1 million each as part of the seed fund for the project. The tests are expected to be completed by end-2012.
