Giant Consolidated Limited, a unit of Malaysia-based Giant Group, has won a RM 15 billion deal to build a 220 km rail line in Laos. The company will build an electrified double-track standard gauge railway line from Savannakhet to Lao Bao, near Laos’s border with Vietnam. Earlier, in 2008, the Giant Group signed a preliminary agreement with the Laos government to conduct a feasibility study on the railway project.
