The Provincial Authorities of Tay Ninh have submitted a proposal to the Government to include the Bau Bang–Moc Bai railway line in Vietnam’s national railway master plan. The line would span 57 km, with a standard gauge of 1,435 mm, a track width of 12.5 m, and a 40 m right-of-way. It would begin at Tan Hung Station in Ho Chi Minh City, run parallel to the Binh Duong–Tay Ninh highway, and terminate at Moc Bai Station in Tay Ninh.

The proposed alignment includes 27 km in Tay Ninh and 30 km in Ho Chi Minh City. According to the Tay Ninh People’s Committee, the line would enhance passenger and cargo transport. The route is also expected to encourage eco-tourism development along the Saigon River and Dau Tieng Lake. If approved, the railway would become a key part of Vietnam’s long-term transport and economic development strategy.
