SunAsia Energy Incorporation has secured a contract from Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) to develop 1.3 GW in floating solar capacity at Laguna Lake in the Philippines. This is expected to be one of the largest floating solar projects in the world.  Around 10 blocks of Laguna Lake surface, totalling 1,000 hectares, has been awarded to the developer.

Construction is scheduled to commence in 2025, with operations set to begin in 2026. Once online, the floating solar facility is expected to offset around 1 million tons of carbon emission.
