The Bangkok-Nong Khai high speed rail (HSR) in THailand is expected to open to passenger traffic in 2027. Work on the 250.77-km-long first section has been nearly 40 per cent completed. The  TBH179.4 billion section will span from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima province, covering six stations. The section will include an  elevated rail track of 181.9 km, a ground-level track of 64 km and a tunnel of 6.4 km. 

Moreover, the State Railways of Thailand (SRT) has completed the study and design for the second section which will connect Nakhon Ratchasima to Nong Khai.
