SingTel has awarded a contract to Ericsson to provide technological support for long term evolution (LTE) services. Ericsson will deploy the LTE-Advanced network in 2014 to offer high speed broadband connectivity, with a downstream speed of 300 Mbps. SingTel is also aiming to improve the quality of video streaming services, by implementing a trial of the LTE Broadcast technology and offering enhanced indoor coverage with a trial deployment of Ericsson’s Radio Dot System solution in the second half of 2014. Ericsson will also enable the operator to offer voice over LTE services with single radio voice call continuity technology.
