The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded contracts with a combined value of USD961 million for the design and construction of two interchange stations under Phase 2 of the Cross Island Line (CRL) project in Singapore.

The first contract, worth UDD447 million, was secured by China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) and covers the design and construction of King Albert Park station. Meanwhile, the second contract, with a value of USD514 million, was secured by a joint venture (JV) comprising CCCC and Sinohydro Corporation (Singapore Branch) and covers the design and construction of the Clementi interchange station.

Construction on the stations is expected to start by Q1 2024 and passenger operations are scheduled to begin in 2032 for Phase 2 of CRL.

As for CRL Phase 3, engineering studies are in the works and additional details will be announced after these studies are completed.
