China-based Shanghai Electric Group Company Limited will develop a waste-to-energy (WtE) plant in Selangor state, Malaysia. The plant will dispose of 2,900 tons of solid waste per day and generate around 52 MW of electricity. Operations are expected to commence by 2026.
The project is owned by Worldwide Holdings. The project will help the state dispose of waste in a safe manner using the latest technology.
