Energies Philippines Incorporation and San Bernardino Ocean Power Corporation, have partnered with Inyanga Marine Energy Group to construct Southeast Asia’s first tidal power generation facility in Capul Island in the Philippines. Inyanga Marine Energy Group has been awarded the contract for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for the initial phase of 1 MW. The project is expected to launch by the end of 2025.

The tidal project will be equipped with HydroWing tidal stream turbines which will integrate with the electrical network of the island, replacing the 750 kW diesel power plant. The initial phase of the project will be connected to a microgrid network along with solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage.
