Siemens Energy Vietnam, a unit of Siemens Energy, has proposed plans to partner with Vietnam Electricity (EVN) for the transmission of offshore wind (OSW) power projects using high voltage direct current (HVDC) technology. The proposal includes cooperation in other activities, including digitalisation, operational efficiency improvement, maintenance of EVN power plants, green hydrogen production, wind turbine technology, and overall energy transition.
Siemens is a key supplier of equipment for power plants in Vietnam, including the expansion of the Phu My 2.1 power plant, and the Phu My 3, Ca Mau and Nhon Trach 2 thermal power plants. It has also supplied equipment for many 500 kV substations, including Doc Soi, Son La, and Song May.
