P. Furberg has been appointed CEO of Telenor Myanmar. The appointment will be effective when the company receives the approval from Myanmar’s authorities. As CEO, he will be responsible for the swift roll-out of a modern telecommunications network in the country.
Prior to the appointment, Furberg was CFO of Dtac, Thailand’s second largest mobile operator; Telenor is a majority shareholder in the company. Furberg has more than 10 years of experience in Asia. He joined Telenor 14 years ago and has held various senior positions at the company including Head of Financial Services. Furberg also possesses experience of working in the public sector: prior to joining Telenor, he worked with the Norwegian Parliament and the Norwegian Ministry of Finance.
Furberg has a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. He is also a Certified Financial Analyst.
