Temasek Holdings, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, has appointed L.B. Heng as its fourth Chairman. The appointment came into effect on August 1, 2013. Lim succeeds S. Dhanabalan who led the investment company since 1996.

Lim joined the Temasek board in June 2012. He is a committed political leader. At present, he is a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and has served as a Member of Parliament for Jurong Group Representation Constituency as of 1980. Since 1994, he has been Secretary General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). He is also Chairman of Ntuc Learning Hub Pte Limited and Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Labour Foundation, as well as Chairman of the National Productivity Board and the Productivity and Standards Board. He has also served as a Director of Singapore Airlines since 1997. Lim began his career with Singapore-based logistics company Neptune Orient Lines.

Lim has a bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
