Singapore-based Keppel Corporation announced that C.C. Beng has stepped down from his position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will be succeeded by Loh Chin Hua, currently the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Beng has held the post of CEO since 2009. Choo began his career as a Ship Repair Management Trainee at the Keppel Shipyard in 1971. He assumed the role of Executive Director of Singapore Slipway in 1973. Subsequently, he took up the position of Executive Vice-President and CEO of Keppel’s Philippines subsidiary that set up a new shipyard in the country. Subsequently, he held various senior positions at Keppel including Managing Director, Deputy Chairman, and Chairman. After his retirement, he will assume the role of Senior Adviser to the boards of Keppel Corp, Keppel O&M, and Keppel Infrastructure. He is serving as a Member of the Management Board of Energy Studies Institute, a Director of KrisEnergy Limited, and a Council Member of the ASEAN Council on Petroleum.

Beng has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Naval Architecture from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He also attended the Programme for Management Development at Harvard Business School and the Wharton Fellows Programme at the University of Pennsylvania.
