The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has appointed Ricardo Rail Australia Private Limited as the shadow operator consultant (SOC) for the Metro Rail Transit Line 4 (MRT-4) project in the Philippines. With the signing of the SOC agreement, the pre-construction work will commence on the rail line.
Ricardo Rail will prepare a roadmap for operating and maintaining (O&M) the MRT-4 by its future concessionaire. The company will outline procedures detailing how the engineering and architectural design of the MRT-4 should be followed.
The MRT4 is an 18.4-km-long line planned for Metro Manila and Rizal. The line will consist of 11 stations, all of which will be above ground. Once operational, the rail line will serve more than 400,000 passengers daily.
