The Nusantara State Capital Authority (OIKN) is planning to develop a solar power facility in Indonesia’s new capital city by 2024. The 50 MW plant will be located in the IKN 3 region. Additionally, rooftop solar panels will also be installed on all buildings constructed by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) in Nusantara.

OIKN is looking to further expand the city’s rooftop solar capacity by partnering with external parties to install solar roofs at housing areas for construction workers.

This move is a part of the government’s Future Smart Forest City concept for Nusantara.
