The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has started construction works on its 117 km Santiago– Tuguegarao 230 kV transmission line project. A second circuit will be added to the existing 230 kV line from Santiago, Isabela, to Tuguegarao, Cagayan Valley, in order to address electric transmission reliability issues in the event of outages in the existing Santiago–Gamu and Gamu–Tuguegarao 230 kV line segments. The new transmission line project will be completed in 2015.
