Melekon Contractors has awarded a $847.8 million EPC contract to the Northeast Electric Power Design Institute (NEPDI) for a 1,100 MW LNG-fired combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in the Philippines. The CCGT plant will be constructed on a one-off basis with no phases. In particular, two gas turbines, two heat recovery boilers, and one steam turbine will be adopted in the combined cycle power generation programme. Further, a dock and a natural gas terminal will also be built synchronously near the project site. The construction period for the project is 33 months. The project will use General Electric (GE) 7H (60Hz) gas turbines. NEPDI is a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group Company Limited.
