The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has reduced the maximum tariffs for pre-paid and post-paid 3G mobile services. The maximum tariff for 3G voice services has been reduced from 0.97 baht to 0.82 baht per minute. The maximum tariffs for SMS have been curtailed from 1.56 baht to 1.33 baht per message, while those for MMS have been lowered from 3.9 baht to 3.32 baht per message. The highest tariff for data services has been fixed at 0.28 baht per MB, compared to the previous 0.33 baht per MB. The regulator has stated that any operator found violating these limits would face penalties ranging from a warning to licence cancellation.
