The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has announced plans to develop and improve 19 transport infrastructure projects in Vietnam. Works will commence on 11 expressway projects and eight rail infrastructure projects in 2024.
Key projects include linking Lo T with Rach Soi, Cho Moi with Bac Kan, Dau Giay with Tan Phu, Phase 1 of the expressway from Dien Chau to Bai Vot and the North-South Expressway East expressway. Further, three National Highways in the Mekong Delta will be improved at an investment of USD386 million, of which more than 60 per cent of the funding will be provided by the World Bank meanwhile, the remaining funding will be provided by the Government of Vietnam.
Additionally, a study is underway to construct a USD63 million tunnel connecting Ton Duc Thang Street close to the Saigon River.
