The Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line has commenced a 1.5-month trial run, before its elevated section becomes operational in July 2024. The Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board announced that the trial run will be conducted on weekdays. This trial run marks the final step before the project is put into operation. It involves simulated operations without passengers to assess the skills and knowledge of metro personnel.

The trial run is expected to conclude by the end of April 2024. In June 2024, the project’s contractor will complete safety system approval, with the elevated section set to be operational in July 2024.

The Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line, spanning 12.5 km, comprises eight elevated stations and four underground ones, traversing six districts: Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Dong Da, Hoan Kiem, and Ba Dinh. Originally slated for completion in 2015, the project faced delays, with the deadline extended to 2027. Currently, works have been 77 per cent completed, with the elevated section nearly finished at 99 per cent.
