The Ministry of Transport plans to complete four road and bridge projects by the end of the second quarter of 2019-20. These projects, implemented on the build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis, have entailed an investment of VND 5 trillion. The first project involves the upgradation of four sections of National Highway 60, stretching from the Rach Mieu to Co Chien bridges in the Mekong delta. Spanning a length of 22.38 km, the project is expected to cost VND 1.75 trillion. The second project involves the upgradation of National Highway 26, which aims at widening sections of the road running through the Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak provinces and constructing a new section in Ninh Hoa town of Khanh Hoa province. It is expected to cost VND 814 billion. The third project involves the upgradation and expansion of National Highway 20, which connects Dau Giay in Dong Nai province and Bao Loc city in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong. The scope of the project also includes the upgradation of the Dau Giay intersection and construction of a 15 km bypass around Bao Loc. An investment of nearly VND 1.05 trillion has been approved for the project. The fourth project involves the construction of the Binh Loi railway bridge and dredging a section of the Saigon river. It is expected to cost VND 1.3 trillion.
