The launch of the long-haul, low-fare Thai Asia X (TAAX) airline, planned for March 2014, has been delayed amidst the civil unrest in the country. TAAX has deployed one Airbus 330-300 aircraft at Bangkok’s Don Mueang airport since January 2014. It has also received an air operator’s certificate from the Civil Aviation Department. The aircraft is currently being used for charter purposes until TAAX begins commercial flights. No date has been set for taking delivery of its second A330-300 aircraft that has been configured with 365 economy-class seats and 12 business-class seats.
