South Korea-based Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) has been selected as the preferred negotiator for the operation and maintenance (O&M) contract of the Manila Metro Line 7 (MRT-7) in the Philippines.

The 23-km-long railway will connect Quezon City to Bulacan and is expected to commence passenger operations in 2025. Korail will work with San Miguel Corporation to finalise the contract by the end of 2024. The collaboration will involve around 50 Korail experts, marking Korail’s continued presence in the Philippine railway sector since 2012.
