The 5.5 km long Jerudong-Tungku Phase III link road has been completed at an estimated cost of $9.64 million. The link road is part of the 10th National Development Plan, and a continuation of the second phase, to increase the capacity and provide an alternative route to connect the two main roads at Jalan Jerudong, Simpang 396, and Simpang 324, North Rimba. The construction project began in October 2014, under the supervision of local contractor Jurum Sdn Bhd. The main scope included asphalt paving works along 5.5 km of the North Rimba link road, starting at the roundabout in Kampong Tungku to the Tungku highway flyover; upgrading and widening of roads connecting the existing North Rimba link road; and installation of traffic lights at major intersections along the North Rimba link road to improve road user safety in the area. The new link road will also connect the main intersection of Jalan Gadong-Jalan Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah to the city centre and surrounding areas.
