PT PP (Persero) Tbk, one of the leading construction and investment companies in Indonesia, has successfully completed the construction of the Manado-Bitung toll road project for the 26 km Manado-Danowudu section. The toll road was inaugurated by the government on September 29, 2020. The Manado-Bitung toll road is the first toll road owned by North Sulawesi province located in North Minahasa Regency, Manado City. The toll road construction project has a contract value of IDR 3.16 trillion for Section II works. The Manado-Bitung Toll Road Section II project has a track of 26 km with an implementation period of 969 calendar days. The toll road is owned by PT Jasamarga Manado Bitung, whose ownership structure consists of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk at 65 per cent, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk at 20 per cent and PT PP at 15 per cent. The toll road will reduce logistics costs and support the development of industrial estates and tourist destinations in North Sulawesi besides improving connectivity in the surrounding areas.
