The DKI Jakarta Environment Agency is collaborating with PT Unilever Indonesia and cement producer PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk to process old waste at the Bantargebang TPST into a renewable energy source. In this collaboration, the private sector will support waste mining activities or landfill mining in the inactive zone at the Bantargebang TPST. Through landfill mining activities, plastic waste will be processed into material that can be reused as an alternative fuel or refuse-derived fuel (RDF) as a substitute for coal in the cement industry. The project is expected to produce around 1000 tonnes per month of RDF.
