The Government of Indonesia and Singapore have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance a cross-border electricity project, marking another step in the two countries’ clean energy partnership.

The agreement was signed between Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara and Singapore-based Keppel Electric, Sembcorp Industries and Singapore Energy Interconnections during Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s visit to Jakarta.

The two governments are currently negotiating pricing for the cross-border electricity supply. The project builds on agreements reached between Indonesia and Singapore in 2025, including plans for Indonesia to export 3.4 GW of low-carbon electricity to Singapore by 2035. The initiative is expected to strengthen regional energy connectivity while supporting Singapore’s clean energy imports and Indonesia’s renewable energy development.
