Passenger services have commenced on Hanoi Metro Line 2A (Cat Linh–Ha Dong) in Vietnam. The elevated line spans 13 km from Cat Linh to Ha Dong and covers 12 stations. The trains deployed on the line are of four-car models and have a design speed of 80 km/hr. They have a carrying capacity of 1,000 passengers. The service frequency is 15 minutes initially and it will be increased to 10 minutes from the second week.

The line was constructed by China Railway Sixth Group in a period of 10 years at a cost of USD868 million. The project was partially funded by an official development assistance (ODA) loan from China.
