United Kingdom-based Petrofac Limited (Petrofac), an oilfield service provider, has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract worth USD96 million to supply Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) with a new gas processing facility near Bintulu, Sarawak. Petrofac Engineering Services Malaysia, the company’s country subsidiary, will manage the contract.

The work scope on the Bintulu Additional Gas Sales Facilities 2 (BAGSF2) project includes the engineering and construction of a processing and utilities unit, as well effluent treatment unit to minimise the project’s environmental footprint. Petrofac will also deliver a flare system, pumps, a fire water tank, a metering skid, and a main substation building. The new facility will be able to handle 390 million cubic feet of gas per day. Petrofac will also make brownfield modifications and connect the new facility to another Petronas-owned processing plant in Bintulu.
