The Government of Hanoi has introduced an integrated electronic ticketing system allowing passengers to use subsidised bus services and the city’s two metro lines with a single physical or virtual card. Launched on October 1, the system offers one-day and seven-day passes covering the Cat Linh-Ha Dong Line 2A and Nhon-Cau Giay Line 3.1, as well as the city’s subsidised bus network.
One-day passes are priced at VND30,000 ($1.15) for buses, VND40,000 for metro services and VND50,000 for multimodal travel, while seven-day passes cost VND120,000, VND160,000 and VND200,000, respectively. Tickets can be purchased through Hanoi’s electronic ticketing website or mobile app, with automated ticketing systems for buses and metro linked to a real-time passenger identification database to support faster validation.
