Singapore-based renewables developer Gurin Energy has completed the construction of a 75-MW solar power plant in Palauig, Zambales Province, marking its first project in the Philippines. The facility spans 80 hectares and is equipped with 136,363 photovoltaic panels. It is expected to offset approximately 53,100 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
The electricity generated is contracted by Adventenergy Incorporation and Adventpower Incorporation, subsidiaries of Aboitiz Power Corporation The project was developed through Shizen Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gurin Energy, with financing from UnionBank of the Philippines. Gurin Energy has 1 GW of projects in the Philippine pipeline and 7 GW in development across Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea.
