Vietnam-based Green and Smart Mobility JSC. (GSM) will launch an electric taxi service in Laos by the end of 2023. The fleet will consist of up to 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs), including VF 5 Plus and VF e34 models.
Initially, GSM will develop the electric taxi service and gradually expand to EV rentals and value-added services such as all-inclusive tourism and personalised bookings. In the future, GSM Laos also plans to pursue B2B activities such as the sale and rental of VinFast electric cars.
By 2030, the Government of Laos intends to increase the share of EVs to 30 per cent and have 200 public charging stations across the country.
