Sarawak Shell Berhad (SSB), a subsidiary of Shell Public Limited Company, has commenced gas production under the SK318 production sharing contract (PSC) at Timi Platform, offshore Sarawak in Malaysia. Timi Platform is capable of producing 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent of gas daily and transports the extracted gas by a 80-km-long pipe to the F23 production hub. Output from the site is delivered to the Bintulu LNG export plant in Sarawak.

Additionally, it features Shell’s first solar and wind hybrid power wellhead platform in Malaysia, which is 60 per cent lighter in weight as compared to the wellhead platforms that run on oil and gas.

SSB operates the SK318 PSC with a 75 per cent stake while Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd owns a 15 per cent interest and Brunei Energy Exploration has a share of 10 per cent.
