TransJakarta, a municipally-owned land transport company, has announced that it plans to add 22 electric buses to its fleet across Indonesia by October 2023. Once the new buses are operational, the operator’s sustainable fleet will increase to 100 e-buses.
Additionally, the city government of Jakarta also plans to implement vehicle emission testing starting September 2023. This testing will measure key indicators including lubricant oil temperature, engine rotation, levels of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon, and oxygen.
To further promote electrification, new charging stations will be installed across the city.
