Passenger services have commenced on Phase 2 of the Klang Valley mass rapid transit (MRT) Putrajaya Line in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 13.5 km underground work package, consisting of 11 stations, was delivered by AECOM.
Additionally, Alstom supplied and installed its Cityflo™ 650 communications-based train control (CBTC) signalling system for the line. The company has also supplied onboard signalling for the trains.
The recent development completes the 57.7-km-long MRT line. Phase 1 opened to traffic in June 2022. The Putrajaya Line is expected to receive an average daily footfall of around 104,000 passengers.
