The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has signed an agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to support transport-oriented developments (TOD) across the Philippines.
JICA will provide technical assistance in planning and implementing the TODs at sites along the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) and the North-South Commuter Railway. This will serve as a model for developing sustainable mixed-use communities with train access.
The BCDA will develop the TODs around the four subways stations including Market! Market! in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Senate-Department of Education (DepEd) station, Kalayaan Avenue and Lawton Avenue.
The TODs will be key in attracting investments in the locations near the transit stations.
