Chevron Singapore, which manages the Caltex gas stations, has collaborated with Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group to set up electric vehicle (EV) charging points at four of its stations. The fast chargers will be installed in the regions of Jurong Spring, Changi, Chong Pang and Dunearn and will be equipped with 50kW direct current (DC) chargers. They will be ready for commercial use by the second quarter of 2021. These charging points will be incorporated on the SP Utilities mobile app and will allow an EV driver to look up the closest charging points and make cashless payments.

The Caltex station at Changi will have two chargers which can completely charge an EV in 30 minutes. The rest of stations will each be equipped with only one 50kW DC charger.

The charging fee is set at a competitive price of  46.63 cents/kWh, while Shell’s EV charging stations costs 55 cents/kWh.
