Fortinet has expanded its Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) infrastructure in Malaysia with the deployment of a local point-of-presence (PoP), aimed at strengthening cybersecurity and supporting the country’s digital transformation.
The new local SASE PoP enables secure, high-performance connectivity for enterprises and hybrid workforces, ensuring consistent security enforcement with lower latency as organisations increasingly adopt cloud-based and distributed operating models.
The initiative forms part of Fortinet’s broader investment in Southeast Asia’s cloud security infrastructure and aligns with Malaysia’s national digital economy agenda, including efforts to develop a sovereign artificial intelligence (AI) cloud.
By bringing security services closer to users and applications, the deployment is expected to improve system performance, simplify operations, and enhance cyber resilience amid rising digital adoption and evolving cyber risks.
