Egis has been appointed to provide technical assessment services for the powerhouse building at the Belawan New Container Terminal (BNCT) in Medan, a key logistics hub along the Malacca Strait.
BNCT, operated by a consortium including DP World, Pelindo, and the Indonesia Investment Authority, plays a critical role in regional and international trade flows. The powerhouse facility supports terminal operations and overall infrastructure resilience.
Under the assignment, Egis will conduct detailed technical evaluations, including geotechnical soil investigations and non-destructive testing (NDT), to assess structural integrity without disrupting operations. The study will help identify improvement measures to enhance durability, efficiency, and long-term sustainability of the facility.
The project is part of broader efforts to strengthen port infrastructure resilience and operational reliability in one of the world’s busiest maritime corridors, supporting global supply chains and trade connectivity.
